BestBy Privacy Policy

BestBy is a local-first iOS app for household expiry reminders. The app does not require an account, does not run a developer-operated backend, and does not use advertising or analytics SDKs.

Data Collection

The developer does not collect personal data from BestBy. Items, expiry dates, locations, categories, reminder settings, and app settings are stored on your device.

On-Device Storage

BestBy stores app data locally using Apple's on-device storage technologies. Data stays on your device unless you choose to export, back up, share, or restore it yourself.

Exports and Backups

BestBy can export CSV files and JSON backups when you request them. You control where those files are saved or shared after export.

Notifications

BestBy uses Apple's local notification system to schedule household expiry reminders on your device. The developer does not receive notification contents or reminder schedules.

Purchases

BestBy may use Apple's StoreKit framework for a one-time lifetime unlock. Purchase processing is handled by Apple. The developer does not receive your payment card details.

Third-Party Services

BestBy does not include third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, barcode lookup, OCR, or cloud sync services in this release.

Data Deletion

You can delete items inside the app. You can remove all local app data by deleting BestBy from your device. Backups or exports you created remain wherever you saved them until you delete those files.

Children

BestBy is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
